The Short-term Stay visa examination focuses on whether activities are legitimate and the period of stay.

Other

Monetary tokens of gratitude for speeches and extraordinary income that occurs in daily life, not related to the industry, are not considered to be compensation. Renewal of period of stay is grated only in case of unavoidable circumstances from a humanitarian perspective or equivalent special circumstances (such as illness). There are many cases of short-term visa applications for the purpose of maternity care.

As a general rule working is not allowed, but if special permission is obtained, student visa holders may work part-time up to 28 hours per week in order to provide for living expenses and tuition.

Assistance and payment of expenses by relatives is highly regarded as the application requires the applicant have sufficient funds and/or scholarships to pay for all expenses required during the term of study.

(1) The technique, skill or knowledge that the applicant wishes to acquire can only be acquired through repetition.

(2) The applicant is at least 18 years of age and plans to work in a business that requires the skills acquired in Japan after returning to their country of nationality, or where they have an address.

(3) The applicant will acquire techniques, skill or knowledge that is impossible or difficult to learn in the region where they reside.

Other

Unlike Technical Intern Training visas, Training visas do not require a contract between the organization accepting the trainee and the applicant, so it is usually used for training that is expected to take between three months and one year.

Dependent visas require that the resident of Japan support the applicants. Therefore the resident summoning their family must have sufficient ability to provide support.

Other

Only supporters with permission to work can be accompanied by dependents. Dependents cannot work unless they obtain permission to engage in an activity other than those permitted by the status of residence.
